Akimbo Solar was my first venture — a solar energy marketing agency I founded at age 16.
What I did
I made over 7,000 cold calls and secured clients for the agency. This was where I learned the fundamentals of business: sales, outreach, rejection, and persistence. The experience of doing thousands of calls at 16 shaped how I think about building businesses — start by talking to people.
What I learned
Running Akimbo Solar gave me hands-on experience in business ownership, sales, and outreach. It directly led to my next ventures — VirtuaKiwi (building tools for the outreach problem I experienced firsthand) and eventually Borradh.
